Branded service licensing programs allow consumers to interact with leading partners with the added trust that our brands inspire. The MOTOR TREND Certified Vehicles® program by EasyCare enables selected car dealers to offer a high-quality Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program for vehicles not covered by a franchise program. The HOT ROD UniversityTM program offered by Universal Technical Institute includes specifically designed curriculum for repairing domestic performance vehicles.
Our accolades designate specific products as “tested and approved” by brand editorial teams known and trusted as leading authorities. Program levels include “Approved”, “Official Product”, and “Recommended Best Buy”. After gaining approval from our editorial staff, these accolades can be used by licensees in marketing and product packaging to convey that consumers should be confident in their purchasing decisions based on the endorsement.
TEN offers master and individual franchises to qualified operators interested in extending our brands to restaurant, pub, and retail locations across the country. The success of the original SURFER [The Bar] TM concept at Turtle Bay Resort in Hawaii has led to extension opportunities in key beach locations in the continental U.S. by our partner, Surf Concepts. Similar opportunities exist for TEN brands including Hot Rod, Lowrider, Powder, and Transworld.
TEN: The Enthusiast Network offers digital and print reproductions of our massive library of original content. Our syndication efforts include long-standing partnerships with the New York Times Syndicate, Fox Syndication, EBSCO and Cengage Learning to name a few.
Our company’s rich history of enthusiast journalism that began with industry legends such as Robert E. Petersen and John Severson now spans over 65 years. As a result, our archive contains over six million images, documenting the evolution of the automotive and action sports industries including historic events, locales, and personalities. Images are available for commercial and editorial license directly or through our partnership with Getty Images.
Each year, our company recognizes the outstanding performance of industry leaders in several areas. This includes Intellichoice’s annual “Best Overall Value of the Year” Awards, The “Motorist Choice Awards” by Intellichoice and Auto Pacific, as well as Intellichoice’ Certified Pre-Owned Awards in the categories of Premium and Popular brands. Each year, TEN produces hundreds of hours of high-quality video programming. HOT ROD TV is America’s longest running performance automotive series and a highly rated network program. Other television projects have included 4-Wheel & Off-Road Ultimate Adventure, Four Wheeler TV, Surfer Poll, and Endurocross.
Studio TEN, TEN’s state-of-the-art live action, digital effects and animation studio produces a full slate of episodic programming for digital distribution, exemplified by the Motor Trend Channel on YouTube with over 2.5 million subscribers and 700 million video views.
In Sports & Entertainment, our Grindtv.com and Stupid Videos brands distribute original and viral video content to major distribution platforms including Yahoo! and MSN both domestically and internationally.
International IPTV and VOD providers, including the LiveBox Play platform distributed by Orange in France, utilize a mix of articles, photo galleries, videos, and illustrations from TEN to present custom vertical experiences designed to engage and entertain new audiences while monetizing via advertising and commerce.
TEN is expanding rapidly to reach new international and foreign language markets through channels such as Motor Trend India (motortrend.in), Motor Trend Canada (motortrend.ca), and motortrendenespanol.com. U.S. and localized content from these properties is also available for syndication to partners around the globe.
TEN also enters into content licensing and distribution partnerships by offering either fully branded media properties such as Motor Trend Korea, SLAM China, and Snowboarder Japan, or as collections of branded vertical content distributed under an incumbent international media brand. We also package our extensive licensed content, advertising sales capabilities, and technical platform resources to power entire website sections for international partners including Terra, one of the largest digital media portals throughout Latin America.
