Will Lingo Named General Manager of Baseball America

Baseball America (BA), the nation’s leading authority on baseball from high school to the pros, has named Will Lingo as its new General Manager. Lingo replaces Lee Folger, who is departing BA after 15 years to become director of the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Championship as part of the Durham Bulls organization.

“It has been a privilege to serve Baseball America,” Folger said. “I look forward to watching the Baseball America team continue to flourish in the future.”

Folger has served as Publisher/General Manager of Baseball America since 1998. “Lee has shepherded BA through a tremendous period of change and growth, and I will do my best to build on the incredible foundation we have,” said Lingo.

“Will Lingo has provided outstanding leadership in his roles at Baseball America,” said Folger. “His vision and direction have helped Baseball America achieve its industry leadership in the baseball market. Will knows how to take Baseball America to the next level. His knowledge and experience will help lead Baseball America to further heights.”

As General Manager, Lingo will assume overall management of Baseball America. He has served as Director of Editorial and Operations since 2013. Prior to that position, he had served with John Manuel as Editors-in-Chief since 2005. Manuel continues to serve as Editor-in-Chief.

Lingo started off as an Assistant Editor and rose through the ranks to Managing Editor in 1997. During his time at Baseball America, he has helped introduce new products such as the Prospect Handbook and the National Baseball Hall of Fame Almanac and the Baseball America Fantasy Guide, as well as the website and custom publishing projects. A graduate of the University of North Carolina, Lingo lives in Raleigh, N.C., with his wife and two children.
